Making connections

A few weeks ago I first read about San Joaquin valley fever.

A few days ago I marveled at some micaceous rocks I collected long ago.

Today I learned both the valley fever and mica played a role in the plot of a suspense novel I'm reading.

Unfortunately, the lead character was making me gnash my teeth in frustration. She kept making dumb choices.

Today, I realized the joke was on me, and I was supposed to be able to outthink her dumb moves. The final conflict depends on her dumb moves.
